| Help us Build Freedom Ranch of Missouri! Join us in providing a safe haven for battered mothers and their children. A place where abusers cannot reach their victims, and where the abused can recover and gain the strength and skills to go forward as productive members of society. The Battered Mother's Resource Fund holds the belief that kids need to be with their mothers during the time of turmoil in their lives as they remove themselves from harm's way and begin to rebuild their lives. And, in order to heal and go forward, mothers need to see and touch their children - knowing that they are safe. Unfortunately, not all organizations share our belief, so too often children and mothers are separated - adding even more turmoil and anxiety to all of their lives, and inhibiting their growth and healing. A Safe House - A New Life - A Bright Future Freedom Ranch will be a port in a storm, unlike any other. First, it will be a safe house for mothers who have children and are struggling to get out of an abusive situation. Second, it will be a summer camp/safety net for inner-city children to learn a better way of life. A Ranch Like No Other! Freedom Ranch of Missouri is a fully operational, working ranch, owned and operated by Battered Mothers Resource Fund, Inc. (BMRF) entirely for the betterment of battered mothers and their children.
Whether the families are utilizing the emergency shelter or children are attending the summer camp, Freedom Ranch will offer a wide range of assistance to both the mothers and their children. Our case managers and counselors will provide: emotional counseling; credit and financial counseling; access to our extensive database for referrals to resources in their communities; legal assistance; and much more. Our counselors and case managers will be available, on-site, 24-hours a day. See the "Summer Camp" and "Emergency Shelter" pages for more information.
